Middle School Girls Soccer Team Portraits

I like the net background. It just makes sense for soccer portraits IMO. I like the Logos and I think it will be a popular option. Finally, I like the last pose of the individual photos the best.

If you can, I would love to see a before and after of one of the shots. Lightroom is more powerful than what I use it for, so its always nice to see the process to learn from.

Here are all of the shots that I put in the first post. This is out of camera, nothing done except resized to 1000px on the long side and at 96ppi. No crop, no levels adjust, nothing.

And here is just one shot that will show how close and where I placed the reflector panel and the gold disc that was cropped out of frame when processed.

And remember I said my very first shot was a group photo with no direct sunlight available? Here is that first shot that was almost blown out using two Vivitar 283's at each flanking corner of the group at 45 degrees to the camera. The flash units were just outside the frame of the camera so they are not even included in the uncropped shot. I am not sure if I kept and used this as one of the final shots or not. I don't think I used it.

Now the bad.

These have been cropped just for this post to show the out of focus clearly. Other than cropped they have no processing done.

I don't know yet how I did this but on several of these shots, and these shots only, I missed focus of the eyes and got focus on the feet. I was quite sure each time I shot to refocus each shot and make sure to hold focus on the eyes. Anyway, good thing I did shoot multiple shots of each pose.

Great job in my opinion. I would deflate the ball that others are mentioning. I bet you were pretty nervous on getting it "right".

I sent out a letter to all the parents with my contact info and have sent a sample to the parents who have replied. I am getting very good responses!

They also won the championship last night so I will probably sell a good many of the prints!!

The ball crops out.

I really was not nervous. I felt I had a handle on what I was doing even if I didn't. I did learn some things though and next time I will be better prepared.
