Microsoft office picture manager

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager (MOPM) 2003 Office, Yeah 2003 version because It does more than I know. I did use Office XP Pro prior but you cannot run it with Windows 10 and MO XP did more than I know as well but my question is does anyone know if I can use an application to allow me to see NEF pictures in MOPM? it just shows a question mark and is Nikon's Capture NX-D a photo editing program or is it just to look at pictures?

I'm not sure if most of you are familiar with Macromedia Studio MX 2004 with Flash MX 2004 Pro but odds are you all are since it is a photo editing program.
I have Macromedia Studio MX 2004 with Flash MX 2004 Pro which back then was a 1000$ program but you can get it now for about 300$ and has a couple of unbelievable photo editing program plus other programs which is more than I know how to use but Adobe bought out Macromedia now charges a monthly for the equivalent program which I believe is Creative Cloud. Doe's anyone know if Macromedia Studio MX 2004 is superior to Nikon's programs or is it outdated? It is to me a superior program but I do not know how it ranks up to today's photo editing programs. Should I just use it since I have it?

HERE is a link to it so you will know what I am talking about.

Thank you Mike, that is for XP but I browsed around and found out I can just use W10 explorer, there is not support for Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003. Thanks for looking that up:)

Macromedia MX was designed for web design and content distribution and while it has image editing capabilities it's not exactly what I would call a go-to bitmap/raster image editor. When Macromedia was acquired by Adobe those applications were integrated into Adobe's Creative Suite. Creative Suite is available through Adobe's Creative Cloud but Creative Cloud itself is a distribution method and bears no resemblance to Macromedia MX which again is/was a web-content creation suite. Is Macromedia MX 2004 outdated? In a word, yes. I'm sure it can still get the job done but there are better options, especially if you want to focus on digital photography.

If you want to get up to date with your bitmap image/RAW file editing I suggest you look into either Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom is still available as a stand-alone application if you don't like the idea of a Creative Cloud subscription. Lesser in price would be applications from Corel, such as Paintshop Pro or something from ACDSee, such as ACDSee Pro. If you want something that's totally free, Nikon's View NX-D would be a good choice but asking if the Nikon application(s) are superior to Macromedia MX 2004 is an apples-to-oranges comparison.

If you really want to continue using Picture Manager you could try installing the Nikon .NEF Codec and see if that helps.
