We lived in West Palm during the Frances, Jeanne, and Wilma period. We loved going through the storms, but thank God they weren't any stronger than they were. The worst was going without power for several days, but we were well prepared. Had a Coleman gas grill, and other goodies. Hope this Hurricane year is a safe one for you, Marilynne!

Thanks Chris. We've lived here since 1978 and have been through many hurricanes. Lost lots of roof shingles and survived a tree limb through the bedroom window. Wilma left us without power for three weeks. The worst is off shore and it is heading north so far.

We had made up our mind if a storm was forecasted to hit West Palm or near it, and it was a Cat 3 or above, we were leaving. We never had to, but Frances was a Cat 4 a few days before it hit as it meandered off the coast and spun out before hitting as a Cat 1. Lucky for us. That was our first Hurricane, and we weren't really prepared.
