Picked up some Jamaican Patties for lunch yesterday and pedaled over to Lake Ida. This was the first bird on the scene.

Stepped off the path and got covered with mosquitoes. Chris said they were the blind mosquitoes and don't bite. I didn't care. When I jumped, so did the Black Crowned Night Heron.

Edit: It's doing it to me again today. Why aren't the photos fully loading??

Fantastic shots Marilynne! What 300 lens do you use? I'm weighing up my options at the moment, leaning towards a Nikon 70-300 over the 55-300 as I've read the auto focus is much faster and better to suited to birding.

By the time I realized there was a hole on the other side of the tree, there were to many other folks standing around.
