2 1/2 hours of severe thunder and rain.

First three taken through the screen.

Rain came down so hard, the gutter couldn't keep up.

My dear Marilynne, I hope I can call you this way, your photos are beautiful especially the bird. BTW, you are capturing the rain in a great way.

Thanks Michael. The rain was coming down so fast the gutter couldn't hold it, so the water overflowed in sheets of rain instead of drops. My husband was concerned we were going to be flooded. Luckily, we weren't. The flood in the backyard is almost gone, but it's still raining.

Behind the bank

Met some guy waiting on a tow truck. The flooding was so bad the tow trucks were really scarce yesterday. He called yesterday and they couldn't get to him until this afternoon.

He told us he went around this car yesterday and his car died. He pushed it in to the bank parking lot. He said the water was up to the middle of the door. It still wouldn't start today.

While we were there, the other guy showed up. Off came the shoes.

This is what I would like to eat for lunch today. I guess it tastes yummy. Have never eaten something like this. But your photo shows the delicious taste of it.

You never ate turkey?? Do you eat any meat? A while back I worked with some folks from India and it was rare for them to eat meat. Just about everything they ate had curry on it.

i love old bottles. Did you take it home?

No, with all of my rotten luck lately, I probably would have created a landslide, fallen in the canal and got bitten by gator! There is some writing on the bottle, but even magnifying it I couldn't read it. We've lived here since 1978 and that canal was here before us. The road was widened within the last 10 years, so I don't think it's really, really old.

This farm was flooded from Thursdays storm. There were acres and acres of this.

Handheld 11 shots

We're not sure if this is the aftermath of the flood or if they had to harvest during or right after the storm. Looks like zucchini.

It makes me sad what happened.

Your photos shows dramatically what was going on at the time when the thunderstorm hit this farm.
