This TriColor Heron was too close to the boardwalk, so I couldn't get all of the shadow.

These two are siblings and they let me get real close (within three feet). Wish I had a different lens on the camera.

Looks like it should have fallen off the rail, but never got up the entire time we were there.

The female looks different than the female red-winged blackbirds we get here. Ours are striped, but they just don't look quite the same. I'm not sure why it seems different--I need to get out there and photograph ours.

In general I am always surprised to see such beautiful birds there, Marilynne, although they tend to be native to your area. It's always a delight seeing your work! :cool:

We had lunch at Carrabba's today. They remodeled and are showcasing their wines.
