During yesterday's bike ride, Chris spotted this Loggerhead Shrike on the ground. It flew to the tree as he got closer.

We think it dropped this

I pulled in my driveway this morning. I thought I heard Black Necked Stilts. We're about a half mile from the nearest canal and 1.5 miles from Wako. When I got out of the truck, I got buzzed by a BNS. I was surprised. My neighbor came out of her house and said they'd been flying around looking for something for about a half hour. She went in her yard and called me. Two BNS chicks were running around in her back yard. I saw one heading for my yard and the other went the other way. Ran home, grabbed my camera and Chris said they're in our yard now.

All the prior BNS photos were taken with my D7100 and Tamron 18-400mm lens. Once I saw they weren't going anywhere I went back in the house and got the D500 and Tamron 150-600mm.

Don't know where they went. ATT came to work on our landline and they were gone when I got back.

Tuesday at Wako. I was shooting through the fence gate. Got too many shots with the pole when I zoomed out.

So the rest were shot through the fence

The spoonie was between two Wood Storks and this was the only shot I couldn't crop one out.
