Any one know what species of snake these are, besides a water snake? There were five of them.

https://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/herpetology/fl-snakes/list/nerodia-fasciata-fasciata/ ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the middle snake pic is very different in pattern to the other two, maybe juvenile vs adults? but anyway , the closest match I find to the scale pattern on its head, and the variations in color assuming they are related snakes , was this subspecies , Have a nice weekend.

Thanks stosh! I was thinking a banded water snake, but didn't match any of the shots in Audubon or the Univ of FL's visual ID verification page. Looked for them again today, but they weren't around.

Sad news, something happened to the Green Herons in my previous post. Looks like mom and dad were able to save one baby and moved the nest about two feet from the previous location.

Three handheld shots stitched. I actually saw one of the GBHs fly across the pond to the island. Naturally, I wasn't near the island yet.
