These are being called miracle gators by some folks. Lots of people at Green Cay gave up on this nest. Counted 24 yesterday.

When I went looking for them with the Tamzooka, I couldn't find them. Yesterday, we made a pit stop and one of the volunteers showed me where they were. I was at the water fountain and did not have my camera with me. Went back to the bike, got the camera and it started to rain. When it got down to a drizzle, I went and got some shots with my D5100 and the 18-200mm lens.

When I got to Wako, a man came over to me and told me a gator was eating a bird. This is what I saw when I approached the area. I wasn't close enough, but decided to try to get a shot.

Looks like it might have been a Great Egret.
