Not quite sure what happened here. The van turned left and stopped. The little car stopped. Didn't hear any screeching brakes. The guy driving the van got out, looked and got back in the van.

Pulled in to Heroes parking lot and heard the ding ding ding of the RR crossing gates. Got the camera out of the bag and ran to the fence just in time. It was the shuttle.
Ok, I ran this through Merlin using two different shots. First result showed Immature Coopers Hawk followed immediately by Immature Red Shouldered Hawk. Decided to use a different shot. The result was an immature Red Shouldered Hawk, so I'm going with Red Shouldered. I know we have Coopers here, but don't see them often. I'm sure some one will let me know if I picked the wrong one. The only thing I'm positive about is it's immature.
Oh, BTW, I had just pulled in to the bike rack at Wako, when I spotted the hawk. Didn't have time to lock the bike, just unloaded the camera and started shooting.
This female Anhinga had a tiny fish (maybe 1 - 1.5 inches) in her mouth. She flipped it in the air and I guess I was a tad late on pushing the trigger - all gone.
