Some folks were saying this Black Crowned Night Heron had string on its head.

About an hour later he moved and I think it was just its two white long hairs (feathers) messed up.

That's called a leaf. Actually, it's attached to the smaller green thing just under it. You didn't mention the spoonbill has three legs, two pink, one brown. ViewNX2 doesn't have removal tools. I can't help it when the wildlife and nature mingle. What I see is what you get.
