This morning started out warm, 62, then the front moved through. Temps dropped to low 50's with the rain and wind.

Spotted this dragonfly clinging to a column.

This was the sun trying to peak out.

The sun finally did come back out and the temps did get up to 60 again. It's suppose to be in the high 30's in the morn. Not looking forward to that at all!!!

@whiskeyman - did you forget to close the door up there?? It's to cold down here!!

Marilyn, I just got home from work and made sure the door is shut, alright! The temp outside is currently at 43 and headed down to the low-to-mid-twenties tonight.

I'm about to start up the fireplace!!:D

Hope you didn't get any snow!! Right now it's 45 out there, but here's what's in store for us...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST
FRIDAY.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...30 TO 35 DEGREES THIS MORNING BUT COLDER
TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING...IN THE MID 20S TO AROUND 30.

LOW WIND CHILLS ARE FORECAST WHICH COULD RESULT IN FROST BITE OR
HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN
FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND
GLOVES. - No mention of a coat or jacket, just a hat and gloves...

Good grief Marilynne, the Governor may have to call out the Guard. Do you have warming stations set up for all the old folks? We get chilled easily you know. Balmy here with outside temp at 3 degrees tomorrow and wind chills of 25 below.

They may open some shelters Ron. There are a lot of older homes that do not have heat. Reports are we hit a high of 54 today. It was 50 at noon and really windy. I don't know how you northerners do it.

[h=3]Wind Chill Advisory[/h]
...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING
TO 9 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WIND CHILL VALUES...IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S OVER SOUTH
FLORIDA...EXCEPT LOWER 30S BROWARD AND MIAMI-DADE METRO AREAS.

* OTHER IMPACTS...NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 5 MPH...POSSIBLY UP TO
10 MPH NEAR THE COAST...WILL COMBINE WITH THE COLD TEMPS TO
CREATE COLD WIND CHILLS.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN
FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND
GLOVES.

We are tough. I do seem to remember when i visited relations inFlorida years ago that many homes were built without any provisions for heat. None of my relations had that problem though because they had auxiliary heating systems in their homes, probably because they were transplanted Northerners and were use to having heat systems built into their homes.

Very nice bird and reptile photos, colors are nice. I think I'd want more than 500mm between me and that snake.
ps - We all have "heat pumps" now, they heat or cool.

Crystal River does have some caves but I don't do caves!! Great scallops and redfish and lots of bass lakes all with lots of stuff to photograph.
The St Johns River is very pretty.
