Went in search of a Gopher Tortoise yesterday. Found this guy right away.

It stopped for a photo op

Then left when it thought I had enough shots.

Wako reopened after 1.5 weeks of maintenance. The boardwalk was cleaned and treated. I guess the birds didn't like it, it looked like they had a crapping party. All of the rails were covered with white stuff. Some thing, looks like a racoon, stepped in it.

Starting to see the Great Blue Herons fighting for prime nesting areas. These two were squawking at each other and the fight was over by the time I got near them.

We live in an area that is basically flat, except for bridges over golf courses and I95 and an occasional incline here or there so we have to depend on gated communities for our waterfalls.

I get goosebumps when I look at this one. That face just creeps me out!!

It's still there at a slightly different angle

My bike got a flat tire from a huge chunk of glass, so I started walking while Chris went home for the truck. Passed this along the way.

I think the face in the previous post had something to do with my flat!

I've seen this before while pedaling but never stopped for a shot.

Garbage and Golf Balls about 1/4 mile away from a golf course

I was shooting this gator when a young lady stopped and asked what I was taking pictures of. I replied "the gator head". She asked where the gator was and her boyfriend told her she was looking straight at it. She laughed and said she didn't see it.

She asked what was so special because she could get the same shot with her iPhone. I showed her the dragonfly on its eye and she said "Cool!".

taking a picture of a gator is one thing and taking a picture of a dragonfly is good too. But, taking a picture of a dragonfly on a gator is priceless.

Thanks Clayton. The dragonfly kept circling and did a few touch and goes. It finally decided it was safe to land and stay a while.

Then a walker came by and spooked it. The walker said looked like I was having a private session with the bird. I said I was until you walked over.

I saw the guy coming and prepared myself for the take off. All I got were shots of the boardwalk. Why do they fly down and not up??
