How is selective color done? I have Adobe Elements 10 and Light Room and I could use some tips as I don't find anything when I search "selective color".

By the way, wonderful photos Marilynne.

Make a copy layer of the background original layer. Select the new layer and desaturate it to make it B/W. (remember it is just a layer and can be manipulated without affecting the base original layer.) With that layer selected use the eraser tool to remove areas of the mask that you want color to show through. You can adjust opacity as well so that it only lets a bit of color show through. To do very small areas magnify the image so you can see down to the sub pixels and remove small amounts of pixels at a time.

Thanks jkinzel.

I do selective color in camera. I'm not familiar with the D90. Check your manual or your menu. It's under Retouch Menu on mine.

Mike gave you one tip... I did a test google and got tons of hits, many with youtube demo's

Search "elements selective color"
Search "lightroom selective color"

I have done it in Lightroom....
