And how far into VA are you? I'm on the tip of the red line into MD, and contrary to the pun, not the actually shady end.

Unfamiliar with Nikon for this. Do I need software to check it or can I check this on the body itself? Canon requires a special app to check actuations.

There are web sites available where you can upload an image and get your shutter count. Take your first photo then upload it to a site like this one: Camera Shutter Count

I just checked a DNG file, and it was able to give me the count. It shouldn't be a problem for it to do jpegs either. I used to use MyShutterCount.com, but that site hasn't been available for at least the past week or longer.

I've only snapped a handful of pix around the house just to verify everything works, and just.... WOW. This lens is actually tack sharp, and much better than I was expecting, and the sensor in this body records amazing detail. I AM SO HAPPY I MADE THIS PURCHASE!

Here's two pix of our dogs, just because. :p

We might have to rename one of the dogs, cuz there's already a @Pretzel here and that's too confusing for me. :D

Good deal! Glad you got the kit you expected and that you are more than satisfied with the D750!

Oh I doubt anyone will say anything @Pretzel like you should give yourself a milk bone for being such a good boy! Lol ;)
Or like I thought your hick act was good, but your dog act takes the blue ribbon! Lol ;)

Just teasing ya buddy! Lol :)

Oh man! Gonna be hard to duck this one for a while... ;)

Welcome, I used a Nikon SLR years ago, used an Olympus DSLR then returned to Nikon just recently. You should do well with your new gear, I found it was just a matter of learning where the new camera has the buttons. And my Nikon seems more user friendly to me.

You might have received a gray market D750. You might want to check and see.

It is definitely not gray market. It contains all of the proper manuals in English, warranty card in English, and included all of the proper cables and plugs are for USA outlets. I just got a good deal.
