Looking for a Yongnuo flash

OK guys I got my Yongnuo 1 x YN-622N-TX + 2 x YN-622N and a Yongnuo YN-565EX I-TTL Flash Speedlite along with my Nikon SB700

Set them all up on shinny new stands and tested them with my D7100. IT seems like they are firing BEFORE the camera shutter goes off. I have looked and looked to find the answer but am totally lost. They are both firing together but just ahead of the shutter.

Any help?

Are you trying to use TTL? From the 622 to the flashes you'll want to use TTL, but you will probably want to use one or both flash groups on manual with the 622N-TX controlling power output to the flashes.

When I had two 568EXs on different groups both set to TTL, I was seeing some weird TTL pre-flash behavior, but didn't investigate much further since I wanted manual control.

eventually they started working correctly but then I had to put all my toys away and get ready to cook out and eat. I had everything spread out all over the table. I was shooting in TTL and it seemed to be working. It was a little dark though. I think I read somewhere that was a problem and you had to override it with a +1 exposure compensation. I will set it up tomorrow again and play some more.

When you use manual how do you determine what settings to use? The last time I used flash seriously I had a flash meter and that made it so very easy to do. To bad they don't make a flash meter app for the iPhone. Or do they? Might have to look for that

I have a meter, but honestly don't use it. Take a picture and look at it. If you need more or less flash, dial that in. :) the Tim Payne method. :)

Finally got a chance to set it up and give it a try. I don't really have much room to shoot so that part is very makeshift. I also did not have a willing victim but hope to have some later this evening.
And I am going to need a backlight.
