I've got Lightroom 4, but have been considering upgrading and doing the Creative Cloud package what also gives the photoshop, doesn't seem a bad deal at $9.99 a month.

Thanks for the link, I was also able to find the product on Amazon.co.uk. I was considering the CC package offer, but would be concerned that on the annual renewal, the price will revert to normal - having sucked you in to using PS for a year, you may not be able to turn down the suddenly increased price. 
I had the same concerns but at the new price now for the LR and Photoshop package I think it really is a great deal and signed up. At £8.78 a month its cheaper than a weekly magazine.
Yes, Adobe are trying to increase their market share and kill off competitors but there will always be alternatives.
Even if you choose not to continue after a year you can still access all your files etc and use other software for edits so no real downside.
Following the announcement of these new low cost packages Adobe's share price has risen.
I really doubt Adobe would dare to increase the price going forward too much as they would have a customer revolt and their share price would dive.
Prices for this kind of software are going one way only and its not upwards.

I think that I'm inclined to agree with you. It may be worth signing up while to offer is still there. Are you able to install the software on more than one computer? (I realise it can be installed on tablets etc.)

FYI, Adobe has stated explicitly that should you purchase the subscription (it's not a "payment plan") and then stop, you would retain the use of Lightroom's catalog/library and print functions and lose only the edit and publishing functions. They've also said they have no intention of making LR a web-only product, so when LR6 comes out it should be available standalone. Given the likelihood of that happening soon, no matter how I crunch the math it would seem that the CC deal is better, particularly if you have no investment in either LR or Photoshop.

Thats even cheaper than when I signed up in July. Thanks for the link guess its the $ - £ exchange rate that might have changed.
Even more of a reason to go for it.
As Jake says if you have no existing investment then its a really good offer. (and I do not work for Adobe - just so you know)
