Is it possible to replace the filter ring on a Nikon lens?

18-200 VR. Found one for $220 and was curious about repair possibilities.

I suspect it is the last stage of the focus tube, looks like a separate piece, and I would think a repair shop could replace the part,, I have a 18x200 VR lens up one Ebay right now for parts. broken, but still goood for parts.

On average based on what Nikon charged me in the past, it cost around $250- $350 which includes lens calibration, check AF, VR, etc. Average time is about 7 to 10 work days with Nikon service center.

damaged filter ring ..just buy a UV filter ..take out the glass and glue screw it into the front of the lens ..you only got to get it in there once...cheap as chips

$350 + $220= $570...Almost buy a new one for that
