Why the price of 80-400 is much cheaper than 70-300? just because of the focus motor? or the picture quality also?

lex, have tried both. i like the 70-300VR better in terms of IQ

I have the older version of the 70-300. It is the non VR model. Great lens, sharp, and good color quality. I would rather carry it than my 70-200 f2.8 just because of the weight. Maybe not the fastest in focusing but it does a decent job for the price.
