Lens data in EXIF

So where does Nikon hide the actual lens information itself in the EXIF data?

When I use most any EXIF reader, I can find the focal length very easy. But finding the actual lens used.......... that's another story.

The only place I can find that gives me this information is View and Capture NX2. Everything else just returns the focal length.

Use ExifTool - probably most comprehensive utility of it's kind (freeware). You just "drag'n'drop" your photo file to the "exiftool.exe"...

I use the FxIF add-on for Firefox and it lists the lens information right after the camera...

(example stolen from another image)
