I think it's the composition. Also in the first one you don't notice/mind the black thing behind the flower but it's more visible in the second.

The black thing is a piece of driftwood and shadow. I could lighten it to make it clearer

Day 124

In early today.
Lovely misty/foggy morning today so I went to try my hand at mist shots - makes a change from missed shots - and found it to be not so easy although it does make an ordinary scene a bit more special.

any idea of the year?? looks like it belongs in the 2nd WW

Roy you probably aren't far off. We used these in the Rhodesian war back in the 70s and 80s and they were old then.
I could try and find out just for interest sake and will make a mental note for when I next pass there.

Great looking couple of last entries man! You are really coming into your own!

Thanks Doug. I was at camera club the other night and decided it was time I cranked up my efforts/thought process when taking photos. I have a long way to go before I am there but I do want to get there.
Some of the photos on here and at camera club are just so motivating and deflating at the same time - if you know what I mean.
This morning's fog efforts was simply to learn.
Every click from now on is to learn and improve.
And my PP needs some serious attention too.
Onwards and upwards!

Nah, nothing to get deflated about. You will only get better. Don't let the negativity in. Try and see what the photographer saw and why they took the shot. Stay positive and enjoy it.

I guess that might sound a bit negative but it isn't as I am determined. The thing is though as soon as I have what I think is a good shot I see it's shortcomings when looking at others. There seems to always be room for improvement.
I never realised photography was so similar to golf! :D

and when you go back you will no doubt take more photos :D Cool shots of the truck and the misty scenery. I am guessing fog is a bit like overall grey skies that blow out while trying to get the foreground properly exposed. A grad ND filter helps with that. I haven't mastered that aspect as yet ;)

Day 125

I have once again "lost" my watermark.
Could somebody explain why it disappears on me from time to time?
As far as I know I saved it in the "Default" brushes but it ain't there tonight.

I don't have the remotest idea where it has disappeared to ...
