No need for this forum only, can be another hoster for portfolio or something. Because on this bigger panoramas was great for zooming and all this hosting is just normal "junk".

Infrared stitched panos. Do we prefer the cropped-down version or the full 180-degree version?

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. D600 IR conversion, 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5, A-mode f/10. Full width version is 8 images shot portrait mode.

Edit: Used Hugin panorama stitcher with JPG files. When I learn how to create the RAWTherapee processing file right, I may take another run on the stitch.

This is a three-exposure panorama that I shot in March 2019 in southeastern Sardinia, at the end of a lost valley where a narrow-gauge railroad, a remnant of the rich industrial past of the island in the 19th century, turns around to go God knows where... The nearest human settlement is 30 kilometers away on bad dirt roads you need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to negotiate... a very unusual situation for Europe, although it may be quite commonplace in the wild, wild West... ;)

Nikon Z7, 19mm ƒ/4 tilt-shift Nikkor lens (F-mount) with FTZ adapter.

I vote full 180. The edges help tie the scene together, my eyes travel around the image. I think the cropped in could use a big boat or something unless the clouds are supposed to be the focal point. The clouds look cool, but I think are still better shown in the 180. It seems like there is something missing in the crop, IMO.
Unique shot and look. I like it!

From the same Aug 1 photoshoot, this is a pano series I shot angled upward a bit and and also stitched from 15 exposures. This one was assembled by AutoStitch which I think is doing a nicer job with the blending. I desaturated the original infrared images to B/W before stitching.

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. D600 IR conversion, 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5, A-mode f/10. Fifteen exposure panorama.

It is certainly very wide... The blending looks fine, as far as we can see from forum photos, but is it not lacking a bit in sharpness, or is it just me? Once again, hard to tell from forum photos, with the compression and all...

(Darn, they have a Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, too!) ;)

Appears the forum had to compress the file a lot. It is much sharper on my PC. I could share from imgur but that site compresses also.

Lake Geneva in Wisconsin is obviously named after the more famous Swiss lake. But the local lake is also a well known place in Chicago where many wealthy people own summer homes. It is a tourist destination.

I figured it would be something like that. It is really too bad that forums made for photographers cannot be more respectful of the photos that are uploaded to them. Only 500 pixels seems to be doing a slightly better job. On Flickr the photos are compressed as well, even though they tell you nothing about it, of course! 🤬

Panorama shot of the Gran Sasso mountains in central Italy. I don’t exactly recall the shooting conditions and the EXIF were stripped by PTGui during the stitching process. It was probably just the 19mm tilt-shift Nikkor set on a tripod and shifted horizontally from left to right. I generally take 5 to 7 exposures when I shoot that way, so that would be the case here as well.
