Saw that big buck again today, caught him snacking on the flower tops. He is a handsome guy.

Fantastic!!! Both shots are good, but that overlay is fantastic!! You did that in Camera?? I need to learn how to do that someday.. even if it is out of camera...

Impressive, great job!

I just looked it up!!! Real nice feature on your camera... Does a nice job!

D5100 image overlay camera information starts on page 181 of Camera Manual. You probably already know this, Pat, just thought I would mention it for anyone reading the posts.

You probably already have downloaded a manual to your computer, and placed a shortcut on your desktop, to click on so that you can view the manual on your screen, while you have the camera in your hand(s) to learn new stuff. I do that, and it helps me a lot. :D

I have not tried the image overlay myself, but am going to give it a whirl, now that Kim has posted a very nice image, using this feature.

My apologies for any duplicate information, Pat. I enjoy your images, especially the ones from your work, very interesting. I hope this post is not out of place in this thread. If so, sorry....

Carroll, Thank You!

I did look in the manual but missed it, I then assumed the D5100 did not have it.... I also only looked in the users manual and not the "reference manual"

I found it now and will try a few... inspired by Kim's work... (Thank you Kim!)

Carroll, I do have the Manuals on my computer, cell phone and tablet!!! :) (I do thank you for the tip!)

Don't feel bad. The D3000 has that same overlay function. I have had my D3000 for 3 years now and only discovered that function last week!

I did not even know about "overlay" until Kim posted her image, and Pat mentioned D5100. I cheated and looked it up on "DuckDuckGo". There it was...right in my camera menu!! Since I didn't Google it, I guess I......"Quacked" it.

Don't tell anyone.

I am happy to have caught your interest with the image overlay option. I do need to update my info tho as I just bought myself a D600, and I am loving it! I think an Image Overlay contest might be a great way to get peoples to give it a try! It really is fun, and I have used it before and got some cool results.

This is Raisin, she just absolutely love cappuccino!!! We only let her taste the leftover foam, but she goes nuts for it. I do have a video, but it is on my phone still. I will try and download it here, not sure if I can, you would all get a laugh at it!

I did some more playing with these pics on Photoshop, I do have fun with it! I got about 8 good shots of the eagle as it flew over my head, so I cut and pasted two of them into the background. The misty corner in the background shot was just calling out for some action! lol
