Well my Kenko TC arrived today and the first lens I tried it on was my 90mm Tamron Macro (AF still works).
An example using 90mm, 1.4TC and DCR
And just using 90mm and DCR 250

Thanks Scott if you get chance can you do some sample bug images with the lens and converter.

I have that TC too and it is very versatile TC.
Sent from my iPhone.
I am hoping it isfingers crossed it will work with my old 80-400 as this will save me from buying a new lens and/or camera ;-)

The Af is pretty slow on the 80-400 (old version) anyway so I am used to making do ;-) it will be interesting to see how it goes and it there is any softness. It should work but you will get auto-focus slowdown in low light. I use it with my 300 F4 AF-D and the focus hunts a bit with my D700. I hope it will work better with the 800 focusing system for you.
Yep.. i think the TC would work well with any lens other than macros.
By 'work well' i mean the image quality loss that Brad refers to
I have seen other peoples photos using the TC and macro lenses, they looked OK. I mainly bought the TC to use with my 105 macro, and with a 300 f4 if I ever got one.
I took it out with my 105 on two occaasions, it produced disappointing results both times I'm afraid.. Maybe I got a bad copy, or its just me.
I will do some tests later and see how it performs with both my macro and telephoto lenses.
