I was going to order the D5100 end of the month. My photography interests is primarily in taking photos during my social dance events and capture my travels while I live in the Netherlands.

I found a good deal in the media shop here for the camera with 18-55 and 55-200 kits lens. Wasnt that keen on 55-200 but it was just 40 euros more for the box. So took it. Broke till the end of the month, but risk worth taking :)

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all.

I also have the 5100, you will like it. I think you will be surprised how much youi may use the 55-200~!! I also got it with my kit and it does a very nice job, gives you a little "reach".

Look forward to seeing some dance photos.
I'm sure it's not the easiest subject so if you are new to DSLR you will have a steep learning curve ahead.

How bright is the area, I'm assuming you wont be able to use flash?

Thanks. I have borrowed D3000 and D3100 from couple of friends on and off. But it was more for travel landscapes with good lighting. New to low light dance photography, yes. Cant use flash. I will start of with the kit lens but I guess I would have to get a fast prime later.

Just hope that kit lenses are fast enough to capture dance, though if all of that is in a well-lit environment, you'll be peachy.
