I shoot both jpeg and raw on the same disk. This allows me to post the jpeg right away if I want and allows me to process in raw if I want. By saving to one disk, I only have one disk to process and reformat unless I get crazy and shoot a lot of shots that run over to the second disk which is my backup.

The only time I shoot JPG is when I shoot lightning. Because it take forever for the RAW file to write to the SD on a long exposure and I can't afford to have the shutter not available that long for the next shot.
The only other time I might consider not shooting RAW would be like Rexer John said in the event I would need rapid fire. Although as my skills have improved I tend not to use the "spray and pray" method.

Both, or either for me, if I have time and I can process at leisure then RAW all the time, if I need some for quick upload to a website then its JPEG so its horses for courses. But one I would like to ask is I have the ability to shoot RAW and Jpeg on the camera and never do so, in fact I have this on 2 cameras now and just don't use it does anyone?

I think i used JPG only for a couple of months when i first started shooting.
Only one other time when i realized that am going to be running out of space on the memory card when i was in Nepal did i use JPG for one evening.
I like processing the pics, so JPG just wont do

A bit much sometimes, I agree, but easier to get the quick pic uploaded and emailed off to the grandparents without the conversion process.

If You Don't Shoot RAW, At Least Shoot JPG ... *in* the RAW
I shoot RAW unless there is some compelling reason not to. For me, if it's a picture not worth doing Post on, it's not a picture worth taking in the first place. But I understand that's me, my style of shooting and a whole host of other factors coming into play that allow me that pointedly pointed point of view. That's really my point.
