John's Weekly Photos 2013

Not sure if I could do a daily photo thread, so I figured I would start with at least a weekly one for the remainder of 2013.

Here is the first one taken early today.

Hello John,

Normally, I will look at the picture, then the text. I am possibly the only lunatic that
does not include "keep an eye on the date" in the sequence! …just happy you're posting!

First picture, two points if I may:

1. The rendition is a tad too flat, slightly on the dull side… the brighter band of light
crossing the shot should be, in my eye, a tad more vivid.

2. IMO, this composition should lead the observer in a perfect symmetry that may
amuse the eye but here, there are no elements to support this approach. Consequently,
a lack of visual dynamic is noticeable in this composition. To bring more interest to this,
try to crop (2x3) the tree to the left along with some sky: nothing is more boring than a
cloudless sky! The operation will take the farmer's path off centre.

I would very much appreciate seeing the new version!

Have a good day…

Hello again John,

Yes, in terms of cropping though the result is not as "off centre" as I imagine…
No, in terms of rendition! You see, your shot has three colours and the balance
flat… like a car radio without the equalizer!

I know that this is an early morning shot but I fail to see the clean, clear, and
crisp air of the early hours! YSWIM?

I could give it try if you think it may help…

Went to Eastern Europe recently. I will post some pictures on here as I go through them. Here is Turul, overlooking Tatabanya, Hungary. The largest bird statue in the world, with a wing span of 15 metres (49 feet) and the largest bronze statue in Central Europe.
