Japan just can't get any relief

Those folks have really taken a beating from the earthquake last year now they've got a category 5 typhoon going to hit the lower islands tonight and the big island tomorrow night and Saturday.

A powerful typhoon was moving slowly over waters south of Japan's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa on Thursday afternoon and will likely hit the main island of Okinawa during the weekend, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
As of 3 p.m., Typhoon Jelawat, with an atmospheric pressure of 920 hectopascals at its center, was traveling north-northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour, packing winds of up to 252 kph. While maintaining its strength, the 17th typhoon of the season is expected to pass near the islands of Ishigaki and Miyako through Friday before hitting the island of Okinawa, according to the agency.
After hitting Okinawa, the typhoon may move closer to the Japanese archipelago, hitting wide areas of western and eastern Japan, the weather agency said.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Ewiniar, the 18th of the season, was located at some 310 km southeast of Hachijo Island, traveling north at a speed of 20 kph with an atmospheric pressure of 985 hectopascals at its center.

Make that 2 typhoons heading up the coast, yes not a very good end to the year for them. I hope they fizzle out and cause no harm.
