and here the PPA to add to your Linux repository database for Darktable:
ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release

sudo apt-get update

you should then be able to update to the 1.6.2 version of Darktable.

you are welcome! If you scroll to the top of this thread you will see a drop down menu called "thread tools". if you want you can close the thread now that the problem is solved.

ps: now that you have registered the new PPA in your update manager, Rawtherapee will always be updated from this PPA, meaning that as long as this PPA keeps hosting the updates, you will always be on the latest version. future updates can now be done through the normal update manager and do not need to be done in the terminal. You should actually now be running the 4.2 version!
