Hello, I did took some pictures of the moon thinking that the lens (see attachment) was a Full Frame.
I took the pic and said DX on the Display.

Is it Di for FX(Full Frame)

Thanks for your help,

If your camera showed 'Di' on the display, were you using an FX camera and were your camera's settings set to shoot in DX? As crycocyon said, the Di lenses are for both FX and DX...on an FX camera, whether a Di lens takes an FX or a DX photo all depends on how you have your settings enabled.

Could you perhaps tell us what camera you shot with? It might be a silly question; but from what i read in your post,, it seems like you expect the lens to give you FX results even if it were put on a DX body. Please correct me if i am wrong.

It appears to be this one... Amazon.com: Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (Model A17E): TAMRON: Camera & Photo

It is a full frame lens. All full frame lenses will work on DX cameras, at least optically. On some Nikon DX cameras (not your D7100) a built-in focusing motor is required, which this lens has.

If you're seeing a DX crop on your D600 then is it possible that you have the image area menu options set incorrectly? If not, turn off the autodetect for DX and see if that works for you - perhaps the lens is misidentifying itself as a DX lens?
