You shouldn't be seeing those if you are logged in...
Sometime browsers log you off..
do try clearing your cache, logging off & log in again to see if it replicates

Changed it, logged off & on. Still there. It's not always the same word in a post. It's always some word in the top post.

It sounds like you have some link enhancement thing. Sometimes it's a type of malware, sometimes it's a plugin in IE or Chrome, and sometimes it's a program that you can remove from your ADD/REMOVE programs. For the last two you just have to identify and disable/remove. For the first one you need something that can find it and squash it. Try googling skimwords (carefully) and see what you get.
