A flower in the garden.....

I used different settings to try and achieve what I wanted. Not sure which one I like better out of these two, so I posted both....

I took this series of some Red-backed Wrens. The males in breeding plumage have red feathers on their backs, so these are either females, or youngsters, or males in the off season, or a combination of the above.

I went for a macro walk in the garden when I got home from work this afternoon.

I have never seen this little spider before.

I found this large Spider beside the track down to my creek this afternoon. I had the 55mm macro lens on, this is about 7 feet from the camera, the spider is about 7-8 inches from tip of back leg to tip of front leg.
I will go back down there with a longer lens tomorrow, I can't get closer than this without a ladder.

As promised, a closer look at the big spider. I managed to find a mint condition copy of the Sigma 50-150 f2.8 OS, received it today and this was its test run, first pics.
I took a milk crate with me to get a bit closer, these are about 5-6 feet away from the spider.
Looking at it today, its bigger than my hand, every bit of 8 inches from back toe to front toe I think.
