iPad photo gallery app

I never in a lifetime or two would have ever imagined owning an Apple product by choice, but Win 10 pushed me there and now I own my first - iPad Air. What I need is direction to a good photo app. On Android tablets the free and included apps automatically size the photo to fit the screen, my Apple product does not. Looking in the Apple Store I find most everything costs and information is not as plentiful as Androids Play store. So I would like a recommendation on a photo app that will resize to fit the screen. If I can lock the gallery that would be a plus. And finally, in the Apple way, the cost. Some of the photo apps required monthly renewals. I would like to pay for it and own it.

Thank you for any help. I will never love Apple, but Win 10 has forced me into this arranged marriage of my future.

Good question, I use Apple and an ipad but do not use it for image storing or sharing

Something doesn't sound right. With the photos app on my iPad, I can tap an image and make it fit the screen. I'm not understanding something right.

In addition to the built in Photos app, I use SmugMug today for my online event galleries. I also then use both Lightroom Mobile and the SmugMug app to view galleries that I have exported to my personal Photos library. All three apps let me take an image and fit it to the screen.

I have images stored on the ipad itself. Opening them, which uses the pre-installed photo app, it cuts off the top and bottom of the image. Online viewing of images resize, but I need to be able to show them offline which is where I run into the sizing problem.

Ideally I want an app that will allow me show apps stored on the ipad and fit the screen correctly.

Interesting. I haven't noticed the top/bottom of my images getting cut off. It doesn't seem to do that on my iPhone, need to track down my iPad ...
