Interesting data from my Youtube channel

I have a small Youtube channel that is basically slideshows with royalty free music using my macro and wildlife images. I started it to be able to post a slideshow here on a slideshow thread, and kept at it so that friends and family could follow my photography, and occasionally add new content. I got to looking at the analytics today and discovered something interesting. Over the last 28 days, 100% of my audience has been female aged 25-34. Geography stats are 26% were from Switzerland and 3.5% from the US. I assume they are only reporting specifics from those watching that have Youtube accounts, which would mean more than 2/3 rds of them had no data to draw from. Although I suppose that geography could be gleaned from IP addresses. Although if that were the case, I would expect the percentage to be higher, with apparent VPNs being unknown.

I also know that the first statistic is erroneous as I have a recent comment from someone I know, and he is not 25-34 years old.

I did find the "what viewers are looking for" to be interesting, and may suggest titles and descriptions that may attract more viewers, assuming I am actually interested in more viewers.

Who knows, this could be your path to a monetized account and nearly free money.

About the analytics: you might be underestimating Google's ability and willingness to spy on it's users. If the user is viewing in Chrome and have a Gmail account, they are not anonymous at all. And the location information is even more precise with a mobile phone user, which tends to be the dominant way people view youtube content.

I'll not hold my breath. Slideshows are not exactly a popular type of video. Add to that I won't even begin to comment on whether my images are good enough to attract a lot of interest. I could probably greatly increase my viewership by coming up with eye-catching clickbait titles. My buddy suggested I try something like "See these beautiful creatures before global warming destroys them!". He's probably right.

I am considering a slideshow of insects eating insects. I believe I have enough images now to do one, but not sure I want to appeal to sensationalism just to get a few more views. Not that there is anything wrong with appealing to what people want, within limits. Just not sure that's me.

Again, I'm not sure that this style of video has the interest to really succeed. I'm not young and good looking enough to be doing live videos. Well, not young enough anyway. I see some really well done photography videos out there that only receive hundreds of views. Most of mine are a couple hundred, one is nearly 1K and one is nearly 3K. Probably not too bad, considering how little work I put into creating them, outside of taking pictures, which I would be doing anyway.

I believe the best way for me to make money with photography would be taking portraits/engagement shots. Not really my thing. The other idea would be to make and sell greeting cards. I believe that may be a relatively untapped niche in my area, and I believe many of my images could be made into appealing greeting cards. Unfortunately, if I did that and did well, there would likely be copycats quickly providing competition. I'm retired and have the time, not sure I want the hassles and headaches of a small business.
