Yes. I shoot only RAW, as most of the time the exposure is not to my liking. I use the sensor DR to adjust from 1EV overexposure to upto 5EV under exposure, plus Active D Lighting to recover shadows.Nice shots. As you mentioned, with D3300 even ISO of 1000 would give decent results in terms of noise.
Do you shoot in raw ?
What I have noticed is that there is noise in the shadows at all ISO, but upto ISO 1600 none in the bright areas.
These to things might help
1. Capture a black frame by covering the lens cap as well as eyepiece. Use that to remove general noise
2. "Paint" over dark areas with adjustment brush in Lightroom (after selecting Noise reduction)
