In-camera Intervalometer

Okay, I did another sequence of 55 shots, jpeg fine, 30 seconds, full manual and it again cycled all the way through! Thanks for the help, all I need now is another clear night, which around here means mid June! lol

Now I'm still unclear, would an aftermarket intervalometer allow me to do one minute exposures without going into full bulb mode?

I read one review of the Amazon device one person recommended. It mentioned that they had nearly unlimited options for shutter speed... unlike the 30 seconds that their D90 allowed.

So I would guess that you can set different shutter speeds beyond 30 seconds. I hope that helps. Good luck, I can't wait to see finished product.

Looks like a lot of these have 10 pin adapters, not sure if there is an adapter for the adapter that would work with our cameras..?

That looks nearly identical to my Vello. The connector looks like mine and works on both my D7000 and D600. As I stated earlier, it has no control over camera functions, only shutter activation. So if you can't set the camera for the particular shutter speed then you can't get it with the remote. I don't know of one that allows you to do timed, bulb-like depressions of the shutter.

What is the reason the camera does not allow for longer than 30 second exposures without going into bulb mode? 45 second or 1 minute intervals would be sweet.
