Image Displays ?

Wondering if everyone uses either a laptop or a PC for viewing images while shooting?
Are there any standalone display units that work too that you can view immediately after taking a shot?

i don't seem to have space presently for a PC in my stop gap studio :(
so need some thing that would be a substitute till i get the place ready

I tried that digicam and it just didn't seem to display nearly as sharp as the image I shot. Maybe it was just me on that night I was playing with it.

I also tried Digicam. The only problem is that there is no live view for either the D70 or the D3300 that I have. It works on the D300 though.

The Digicam program is actually a camera control program for tethered shooting. You connect the camera (via a USB or WiFi). You can not only set every thing from it, but implement features not available - 10+ bracketing, Programmable Time lapse, Focus Stacking, synchronizing multiple cameras etc. Give it a try.

That's a bummer though..
i do use Digicam control but i don't want the added space of a PC & all it's associations ;)
i'll just have to keep lugging the laptop around i guess

Digicam should work flawlessly on a Laptop. If you have a small laptop - 10-12 inch screen, then you can have a clip on stand to your tripod to hold the laptop. I have seen these rigs on the net, used by many Medium Format shooters.

You could try DSLR Dashboard on a cheap Android tablet - Much cheaper than a monitor, and can be used for other things too!
