one of my boa constrictors gave birth a few days ago. . .she had 11 babies. . .boa constrictors give live birth (no eggs). . .gestation period is about 120 days plus or minus. . .pairing was an albino boa, and a hypomelanistic boa. . .heres some after birth shots. . .thanks for the look. . .

Grats ;), are those Colombian? Ive had/cared for alot of snakes in my years. I had a Gravid Green Anaconda once, if you want to see a really aggressive momma, nothing like a green.

Curiosity is getting the best of me at the moment...

Are the baby boas left to fend for themselves at birth, or does one of the parents provide care and feeding for a while first?

Once they digest what is left of the yolk, they are out and about on their own, mommas miles away. After not eating for a couple months shes out hunting.

oomph is correct. even though it's live birth, they're not mammals. mommy doesn't nurse them or bring them food. sink or swim lol. these guys are spoiled though . no natural selection from predators, food is brought to them, consistent climate control, lol. and yes they are columbian. i separated mommy right away and gave her a bath to rinse the birthing fluid smell off her. dont want her to get aggresive. thanks all for the looks and interests.
