If You Could Have 4 Lenses For The Next Ten Years For Free?

Which ones would you choose and why? If they got damaged, they would be replaced for free, and you would be guaranteed to have them for at least 10 years, and you wouldn't have to pay anything for them.

I already have them. Look down at my signature and pick any 4 you like. I am sure they will all still be working flawlessly 10 years in the future.

Based on what I tend to shoot the most, the lenses would be: Nikon 24-70mm f2.8, 70-200mm, 85mm f1.4, 105mm f2.8 macro lens.

All other lenses are nice to have lenses to me.

Well, it seems obvious we would want at least coverage from FX 24mm to 200mm (DX would be 16mm to about 133mm),
and a macro lens.

Wide
Nikon 16-35mm VR (arguably one of the sharpest lenses ever made)

Mid range
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8

Tele
Nikon 70-200mm VR II

Prime
The 35, 50, 85, and 135 would all be great options. I'd probably go with the 85mm.

I thought most togs would reserve their 4th lens for a macro.....I guess you don't like shooting little? That's ok....if you'd rather have a prime.

16-35, 70-200, 150-600 and a toss up between the 50 or 85... The edge goes to the 85 because I like the lens better than the 50 but if I can only have 4 then the 50 fits a need.

I really need to explore the 24-120 lens. Looks like a terrific all day, single carry lens.

I have the three f/2.8 lenses, very good, but they are heavy.

For FX, the 24-120mm works great for me, to carry all day. It is not wide enough for DX, which needs the 16-85mm.

People often tout one lens or another, but without specifying DX or FX, it really says nothing.

In addition to what I have already then

The Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM Art

The Sigma 50mm f1.4 DG HSM Art

The replacement for the 24-70mm f2.8 that has VR which I hope Nikon will produce someday - or the 24-120 f4 if it has to be a lens available now.

The Nikon 1 NIKKOR VR 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 Lens ideally with a V3 body attached - have to be greedy if its free :tennis:

I am working on mine now. I have the 18-140 for walking around. The 70-300 for birds and when I need some reach and the 11-16 is coming in Tuesday. I do have a 40mm macro but not sure I would add that to the list yet.

My choices would be, in no particular order, and all for DX:

Tokina 11-16, Nikon 70-200 2.8, Nikon 85, and possibly a 150-600. And like Browncoat, I have zero interest in macro.

Hey Don, don't forget to throw up some picks and thoughts on that new Tokina when you get it.
I'm still trying to decide on a wide angle zoom.
