I just got a Nikon D90 and I need major help with the settings

I’ve had it in manual mode because that’s what was recommended to me but the person before me has done all kinds of things to the settings. I can’t find where to turn the brightness thing off. Where the pictures flash where the camera didn’t catch detail and sometimes my lens won’t focus please help I have a photoshoot tonight & need help!!

You may also want to do this to reset some of the setting to default.

Try removing and reinstalling.
