that stuff they make you drink was rotten, dirty sea water would have been better, i am good for another 9 years.

I just saw on the news tonight that there is a new non-invasive test that is almost as accurate as colonoscopy as to detecting the cancer but did not detect polyps near as well. However, if you have had no issues with polyps the test might be a good alternative.

There's a "pill" that takes dozens of photos per second that you swallow and it travels through your digestive tract. The pictures are picked up via WIFI. It will someday replace the colonoscopy, but the "pill" costs approximately $5000 and it can only be used once. I was in a related business and I have actually seen one a couple of years ago.

The test I mentioned wasn't a pill at all. It is a fecal test that you do yourself and mail to the doctor.

Now that awful stuff you drank, is it similar to the Barium chalk shake they make you drink for stomach x-rays?

Hope the best for you. I had mine done in Feb. They found a polyp and removed it, The tests showed no cancer. But I have to have a colonoscopy done every 5 years now. Not fun, but worth it. They give you pictures at the hospital I go to. Sorry, they will not be framed!

They do that here in Australia Mike. On your 50th birthday you get a package from the govt containing a faecal occult blood test kit :D They suggest you do the test regularly. It's so easy you'd be mad not too. There is no fun in having half your guts removed and wearing a bag for the rest of your life :(

it is a little late now, when i did my test last year they had me mix in crystal light (lemon) it made taking the drain cleaner a little easier.

It's more like Gatorade. Not all that bad.
