I finally got around to a shoot with that 135mm f/3.5 AI Nikkor I got for $75

Blacktop he already stated that he's not indicating to the camera what lens he is using, so disregard the EXIF information in his images.

Woah there gentlemen, we are here to learn from each other and appreciate each other's work. Rocketman, I went through the same thing with STM when I first joined as far as experiencing a bit of his bark, and I would not worry about it because each of us here has his own point of view. Some of us have been through the trenches more than others (and personally I respect STM's experience) and then some care more about technical execution, and others more about the art. If he's not interested in the EXIF, then since it is his thread we should ideally respect that and stay on topic, even if his way of communicating his preferences is a bit direct. Sometimes it is best just to tip-toe around than to confront, hehe. Just my two cents.

Nice to hear this lens is such a great value, makes me tempted to try one out as well as I'm hoping to get a nice 135mm lens someday for closer portraits.

Sadly, I can't see the image here at work. I'll try to remember and glance when I get home...

...and really guys, don't poke sharp things at each other! I may be a bald guy, but I'm a hippie at heart. ;) Life is much better (and longer) without all the stress!

Yea, I know. My post was sarcastic in nature.

I went through the same thing with STM when I first joined as far as experiencing a bit of his bark, and I would not worry about it because each of us here has his own point of view.

Having a point of view is one thing and it's fine, but if I wanted to hear barking, I would open the window and listen to the neighbors dog.

so this is nothing new and id suggest two things so that he doesnt get upset and others dont upset him.

1-post the image with no exif
2-which I think is the better of the two. make a note under the image. please dont ask for exif/please dont ask about the exif. its not relevant in my eyes, I dont care to post it and dont care for the technical specs of it.

I did look at the image but I always look at the exif to understand the photogs mindset and logic to using the settings he did to capture the shot. just for curiosity and to learn. no need to snap over exif.

This whole thread pi**ed me off! Everyone started talking about F16 so I wasted my time looking for the fighter jet they were talking about on this thread. Just another ploy to trip up this newbie I tell ya!!!

It is sharp as a tack and light as a feather. I can feel a big difference between it and those hefty 105mm f/1.8 or 85mm f/14 AIS Nikkor

.
I really like this image - nice job.
Regarding the rest of the thread, chill out and enjoy the ride :)

This wouldn't be an official Nikonites wound up hiney hair thread without me posting in it, so here goes...

@STM - Nice shot. I personally could care less how anyone shoots, the end result is what counts. Nice looking model, good pose. What a steal on that lens!

btw, take into consideration that some people dont read any other comments besides the first. I didnt see your other comment. I saw the the picture, what you wrote and commented.
@rocketman122 - If you're going to post in a thread, read what everyone has to say first. If you're posting a day late and a dollar short, that's your fault for not reading. It's akin to flapping your lips before someone is finished speaking.

And until you actually post some of your images as far as I know you are a "talking" photographer instead of a "shooting" photographer.
people have seen my pics here.
I gotta agree with @STM on this one. I've seen this response a few times now, but still no pics. Do you even lift, bro?

Hi spicture is nice. I didnt ask about the specs. it said the specs. everyone is talking about the aperture, I was confused why it said 85mm when hes shooting the 135mm. thats all. I didnt ask about F16. I do enjoy both looking at a photo then also understanding the mind in why the photog chose those settings. just for learning. Im always open to learn something new. I think him snapping was uncalled for... "FOR THE LAST FREAKIN..." but yet again, im a whiner at times too. more a ranter.

I would love to have that 105 1.8 lens. even though its too soft open. more likely would get the very common but stellar 105 2.5.

no, all photoshop hahaha. 3 years straight. when its raining, I go squatting. very dedicated. everyday the same food. everything is weighed. 5 meals a day. 3 chicken meals 2 protein shakes. I do the mike mentzer HIT training. best thing for me because im very strong but dont recoup fast enough. so I hit hard heavy and intense then take 4-5 days to recoup then go back in.

I dont have a gallery here, true. but throughout posts, there are pictures I uploaded to different threads to show what I do. I do have a flickr account with my pictures but cant link it because my name is on pics as a copyright. I need to keep anonymous.

Flickr gets about 12 million unique visitors per month, and you have photos there with your name on them...but you're worried about keeping anonymous?

Wow what a hottie! haha

yes because its not connected with this account. not everyone want people to know all their private information about them. respect that and dont keep asking please. its disrespectful when I ask for anonymity and you keep poking.

Poking? No. There are enough resources at my disposal to put the pieces together if I so chose. I could care less who you are.

Don't take this the wrong way Rocketman, but ya gotta love the irony of someone posting their desire for anonymity on a public internet forum.

I don't see why Rocketman is getting all the flack. He asked a legitimate question, and got jumped by Mr. Oldschool, and now some dude wearing a browncoat (and I suspect with nothing underneath it) is getting in on the action:eek:
