I did something different

Aweome!
Totally love everything about the levitating shot..
I don't believe a 'real' model would do any better ;)
and yeah, cool tattoos too!

Good thing about using yourself: you do it quickly and you dont have to talk or explain
Bad thing: you hurt yourself a lot, lol. I fell down twice.

My husband are a tattooer, he is really talented.

You really have the artist gene, Wud. Your work motivates me to try new things. Now if I could only harness a little of your imagination, I'd be set

You are way to kind! I hope you will show us, if you do anything like this. Winter is coming here, already below 0, but I wanna do a guy in/above water when we get warmer days, feel free to use that idea :)

Levitating vol. 2 are a bit harder than the first.

Been testing all kind of things today, cause I'm so exited about the shoot tomorrow, with a very interesting girl. This I think came out great:

Another winner Wud, especially the B&W.
Oh and moving on to your latest. I prefer the first shot but a little too much grain in the background and the second shot could do with more contrast and sharpness. Just some small stuff as I couldn't do what you are doing.

It was actually in purpose, I made the last one non-sharp (in pp, all that doesn't move were sharp), I wanted a soft look. But I'll see if it could be done better.

Noted about to much grain, thank you :)

Of course you could do it too, I've seen your images, they are so good.

The main thing in this kind of photography is to thoroughly elaborate the "idea" first, that is, to make sure that you know EXACTLY what you want to get as a final result. It is a must for any form of conceptual art, in order to prevent oneself from too much wandering around... But, then again, if you enjoy in playing with endless possibilities of applying whole lot of "tricks" and trying to get what you're looking for using the method of "hit and miss" , no one and nothing should be stopping you.
And, if I may advise you so, do not employ any other model(s) - your face and figure are very ''photogenic", which can probably contribute to your goal.

I know what I am going for (my notes on my phone are filled with keywords about ideas), but I dont know enough about which poses works on an image, to pull it of straight away. So I shoot some with different poses, look through the pictures, try again but now I got a better idea about how to bend/stretch. At first I of course try to picture the final composition for me, but small differences in your pose, can really do a lot, I think.

Thank you for your kind words. I dont feel photogenic at all, but I dont have the patience to wait for others to find the time modeling for me, lol. I still think it will be really good shooting someone else today, specially as I get to see the poses she does straight away and can correct very small details, but I'll keep working with myself - it makes it much easier, I can just do it the second I feel inspired :)

Think these fit in here. Very happy about the first one. My intention were a b/w image but much brighter, but for some reason the image didn't look done, until it was.. like this:

Very cool again wud :)
How about doing a write up on how you achieved these results?
Would be nice for those who'd like to give it a shot

Of course!

This is pretty simple - loads of vignette, I do it like this:
new layer, soft or overlay blend
gradient tool - black to transperent
click outside the image and drag it in

This is added grain and noise, and a Nik b/w filter. I had good weather for this type of image, very grey and moist-ish, without raining. I used iso 1600 or so, it got kind of an oldish feel to it.

Aperture 2 as I remember, and a little windy, so easy to get some of the flowers out of focus.

This is 2 images on top - first a hill, same area as above, so more or less same settings.
Then an image I took a while ago where we got storm coming in, the sun were low (afternoon) so I just had to fit the image to the place the sun were on this new image (sun wasn't really visible today, just brighter).
I gave the cloud-image some smart blur filter, but hmm, I am not really sure if it would have been better without.

The third one is a good one too (though there are some artifacts in it - like too much messing with gamma). Don't make them brighter...

Wow Wud! I just found this thread! Amazing stuff!! Very nicely done and nothing is too over the top either. You went just far enough to make it very interesting, but in a way that makes it look like you weren't trying that hard.

And I am super happy to see these images because what I have been wanting to try is close to a few of these! Thanks so much for posting!

Looking very much forward to seeing yours :)
