I am sick

Even thought this is a joke image, I find this quite relevant to me anyway... if I am ever feeling shitty about my work, then a quick glance at this reminds me it is probably ok....

LOL I am not looking forward to that HDR hole - seems a death plummet!

HDR is fun. You have Photoshop, Correct? I can give you something fun to try and pretty useful also.

[h=2] Find someplace near you where there are many people moving around a lot Shoot it and then remove all the people. Hint: There are at least two different ways to do this. You can pick your way of doing it. My way takes about 2 or 3 minutes to remove 30 kids running around a playground.[/h]

That is not to say I am unwell ...

I am sick of photography for the day and sick of macro for a an even longer time. No matter what I try I get the same results which are not quite what I wanted.

We shall see what tomorrow brings but for now I think it is time to go buy a bottle of wine for a Friday evening - maybe it will unsick me.

You are not sick. What are you wanting in your macro? My guess is that something in your setup is not quite right or something with your technique is not working. Regardless keep trying and posting your results even the bad ones maybe we can help you.

I am sick of my back aching but cannot get a new one so keep going and do what I do. Although wine washing down the painkillers may help ;)

Lawrence, I think you need a break. You sound like I have felt at times and continuing to grind away only frustrates me further. I suggest taking a break from the macro, shoot something that is completely new to you, and come back to the macro when you feel it calling.

Like others have eluded to, you macro the way you see it is different from how others see it.

Keep shooting and I agree on your Aussie drugged bug theory. :)

You are right George.
For September (possible October too) and starting today my 35mm will go on as it is landscape time.
I may have to use the 18-105mm to go wide at times but we will see.

Macro month was ok as a first step and I will do the odd one just to keep improving. :)

Sorry to hear it, but it is quite common.

I was not to thrilled about what I have been doing, but suddenly got some different results this weekend.

There are different strategies:
- leave your camera at home and enjoy life, till you want to share your enjoyment and hunger for sharing pictures again
- impose a 365, a 52 weeks or doing something different, e.g. a 35mm sabbatical
- do exactly different from what you are used to do, take the lens you would normally not take for the subject
- help others and by that help you to build on their fresh view (volonteer in events, ...)
- ...

Do not think photography is over for you, it is just you need to be shook up a bit.
