I love it Coolbus, I just wish the weather was warmer here in the UK so I could give it a good run out.

Messing about I have just taken this of my dog Millie.

I like the lighting on Millie. BTW--your watermark doesn't bother me ( I saw what the person wrote on Flickr) --Didn't stop Van Gogh or Picasso! And I had my 7100 out very cold icy, snowy weather about 18F. Did darn well and next will be to wrap it in the new rain jacket I got for it. it performed marvelously in the cold which will now prompt me to get up and go out and explore cruddy weather. See ya' on the web and enjoy that 7100!---alan

Alan, can I ask another question?

I nipped outside to take squick shots of the English sun setting here in the north but I forgot my SD card, it was still in my laptop.

It was only after a dozen photos or so that I noticed it was shooting in DEMO mode, how do I get to view these images?

Cable from camera to laptop via USB?

Congrats and welcome. There are some YouTube videos that walk through the menu. I used them to help me familiarize myself with my D7200 while I waited for my book.

They can be viewed after shot using the rear lcd. After some playing it appear if the camera was powered off after the pictures were taken they are gone.

To avoid doing this

1
f7: Slot Empty Release Lock
G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu
Selecting Enable release allows the shutter to be released when no memory card is
inserted, although no pictures will be recorded (they will however be displayed in the
monitor in demo mode). If Release locked is selected, the shutter-release button is
only enabled when a memory card is inserted in the camera.

Use two cards and set the second card for backup and only ever remove one card at a time.

Member Needa gave it to you. I use 2 cards in mine--#1 is 64gb and #2 is 16gb and one card(the 16) always stays in because I've done it too(leaving out #1) . and those Demo images are gone. I know they'll be more to come.

I have since learned the DEMO shots are just so a salesman can show off the camera, they are not actually saved. :(

I see you are fond of B&W. What are you using to process your images?

I shoot in colour then convert to B&W on the camera, I sometimes leave it at that and sometimes use NX-D which is crap but I don't have anything else, I ain't paying for photoshop or anything.
