thank you :) I used to take pics incessantly of my wife and then my cats once I got my cats. Now I seem to rarely have time to take pics of my cats! I gotta credit my ability to take candid photos well to all the practice I got taking pics of my cats :D

Here's one of me testing out my new 105mm 2.8 VR lens. Shot at 1/80" and I got a tiny bit of motion blur. I think PS motion blur sharpening fixed it pretty well though: I said no pictures! by www.HYOFOTO.com, on Flickr

So how you diggin those two D750's?

Looks like you you have put them to good use. Also thanks for the advice on the D600/10 WB issues.

No problem! Really liking the D750, but it's not the biggest upgrade that you'll ever need in your life. Now that I have the D750, I think I could easily go back to the D600 if I needed to. The Auto WB is definitely better, the AF is a little better especially for moving shots--but the way I have my AF set-up now I tend to spray a little more in burst mode and sometimes as a result get a few OOF shots for stills because my hand moved while using continuous AF mode.

As I've read in a review somewhere, the D600 does have better noise performance..more detail in very high ISO, while D750 has less noise but the detail is lost.

I would advise on holding out on upgrading to the D750 until the next iteration comes out and it drops in price. I can't believe I'm having trouble selling my two new D610 for $1250! Granted, they are warranty replacements so maybe most people know I have to be the one to make a warranty claim if there is any issue in the first year. I'm getting offers for $1100 on craigslist.....!

Nah. Not enough in the D750 to make me leave my D610. Absolutely love my camera. And to be honest...these cameras are basically the same performace wise. Although I like the idea of a better AF spread. But it's nothing that can't be worked around when the problem does crop up.

Also another quick question. I noticed you are only running the 35 in 1.4 flavor. Are you finding the 1.8's holding up to and handling most of your jobs? Only reason I ask is I have been thinking of branching out into some portrait type shooting, and honestly if the 1.8 is good...well then all the better for me.

Honestly, I only got the 35 1.4 because it's known to be so sharp wide open. I don't like shooting wide open b/c you'll likely lose dynamic range also.. I could probably get away with shooting wide open at 1.8 for my other lenses, but I don't really care about having the most razor thin DOF as possible anymore :) The only thing insanely thin DOF is good for is showing off the capability of the lens. I don't like the fake 3D look that it produces a lot of times. Better to nail focus / get both eyes in focus usually. Nikon's newest lenses are so good...my favorite is the 28 and I'll probably get the brand new 20mm 1.8 lens that just came out. I could do without my 50mm now as I rarely ever use it (back-up lens) and I can't really justify upgrading to the 85mm 1.8G lens for now. It'd be nice to have it for the weather sealing though..

I'm pretty sure most wedding photographers shoot at 2.8 and higher fstop..maybe 2.2 at times, even when they have the most expensive Nikon 1.4 glass.. I'm not opposed to super thin DOF for tight headshots though. I sometimes lust after Canon's 85 and 50 f1/2 lenses.

Oh yeah, I was gonna add to my last post that I haven't shot a wedding with the D750 yet and come to think of it, I'll probably appreciate it quite a bit more once I do. Still, I agree the D600 is an absolutely amazing camera and not far off from the D750.

Also, just sold my 105 2.8 macro so I gotta change my sig! I pretty much preferred the old 85 1.8 95% of the time. Also, I think it's way too long for wedding ring macro shots for my purposes.
