How to fix vintage tripod legs?

I disagree with Sparky. If you aren't able to repair the legs, then I'd try to sell it for parts. ...............

Unless it's a highly valued piece of equipment, I wouldn't even bother trying to wean a few bucks out of it. Just not worth my time. I'd rather spend that time doing something more productive. Like going out and shoot something.

Benro and Gitzo have twist locks. Not sure which other manufacturers use them.
Gitzo and Manfrotto don't seem to document the sizes of their product, only the compatible parts. Makes it hard to find a match. I can't seem to find Benro spare parts.
Thanks again. I keep digging.

All I can suggest at this point is to contact companies either online or via phone. Here is a Gitzo part web site: https://www.gitzospares.com/ This site also allows you to upload a photo when you click on their Contact page: https://www.gitzospares.com/contact

It looks like Benro has different sites depending upon the location of your country. Perhaps try doing a search for Benro Tripod parts and see if you find anything available. Good luck! :)

I already tried to send them an inquiry, I guess I'll be answered early during the week. If that doesn't work I'll try to find other types of collars of the correct size. Another option I may look at is a clutch h used for speaker stands, if they have them in the correct size.

All to say I am not out if options yet.

Thanks again!!!

One thing to keep in mind is the threads of a different screw lock might be further apart or closer together than the one you have. Be sure to check out everything if you do locate a possible replacement.

Anyone knows how we would call this part? I figure it's the easiest way out.

(this is on a tool at the hardware store. They don't document the spares, but it would be removable)

I find some results on Google with "telescoping pole clamp" but no actual sources to buy them :(

... Still digging.

I McGyvered this interim solution, until I find something better. I used 1.5" pipe fitting and a few bolts for about 10$ at the hardware store, and mister tripod is back in action.

The camera goes up to about 5'6" in a very stable manner. I haven't found anything new that solid, and in the used market they are over a hundred. I am happy this old tripod will see some action again.
