How is this possible

20 years ago when I aged 30 my weight was 65 kg. Since that every year I gained 1 kg more. How is this possible?

This photo was taken last year at my daughter's Ballet-class.

It is a natural part of the aging process for men. It didn't happen so gradually for me, more in spurts (like 5 lbs at a time).

So, your age now is 50 years, and if you gained 1 kg each year, that means your weight in 20 years went from 65 kg to 85 kg . . . or you went from 143 lbs to 187 lbs.

Those are modest gains only . . . and by last year's photo you look like you're still in good shape. Are you concerned?

Don't worry! I'm 4 inches shorter than you and 8 pounds heavier! Now you can sleep well tonight knowing there's a short fat guy in America in worse shape than you! :)

Lol, sorry! I'm back on the low carb diet, lost about 45 pounds last year and kept it off just watching the carbs and exercise.

Happened to me too. 25 years ago I was 71 kg, at Christmas last year I peaked at 89 kg.
I was looking like I had to buy a longer belt because the last hole was a struggle to get the buckle into.
That made me go on a diet, I lost 13 kg in a couple of months, I am back up to 77 kg now, but I am happy at that weight.
My knees and back love me for it :)

Before I started work in the IT industry I was a 5'7" guy with a nice slim 32" waist and a good 60kg weight - that was nearly 15 years ago.

When I got married, I was 32" waist and 65kgs - that was 10 years ago.

Now, coupled with marriage, kids, and sat behind various IT kit all day... I'm a poorly 85kgs 36" waist :(

So, you're a lazy glutton! Only joking, but seriously you should consider more gentle exercise and eating less. I'm 66-years old and weigh within a couple of kilos of what I weighed 40-years ago (80-kilos). Mind you if you used to be 65-kilos and nearly 1.8m tall then that sounds under-weight to start with.

We've lost weight by biking 15 -25 miles a day (sometimes more), no dieting. Since December 2012, my husband lost 20 lbs and I've lost 13. When I fractured my elbow in March, doctor said no bicycle riding for 3 - 4 weeks. I was concerned about regaining some of the weight but didn't even gain back a pound.
