How bad is your NAS Addiction?

I love my Nas. 1tb of pure network attached storage power accessible from all my network capable devices. However i kinda suspect the nas you guys are talking about is something else right? :confused:

I had I think extreme NAS at least this year with getting a D4 and F4 and that was pretty sudden, too. Normally though I plan well ahead to get something, and don't really sacrifice much...more often I try to sell something to offset costs. But the D4 was for what I hope to be a growing business so that is sort of how I justified it to myself, anyhow.

A subset of the much more common GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) which includes lusting after things like tripods and studio lighting (and, heaven forbid, Canon stuff). :)

Come on this is not a syndrome. What self respecting photog would go and get the mail without 3 bodies, 8 lenses, 2 tripods and an ipad logged onto an informative interest group forum.
Sorry, i just dont get it.........

:D

OK I have one small confession to make............... I do have one point and shoot which is bad enough, but it's a Fuji on top of that. :( A finepix XP70 water proof camera. But I swear it's only because I couldn't afford a Nikon version. I bought it for when I finally get to go fishing, so I don't risk my Nikon's! And yes I'm guilty of useing it now and then, but I don't put it in the tamrac backpacks with my Nikon stuff I swear! Lol :p

I have a Pentax Optio W60 waterproof point and shoot for hanging around my neck and taking pictures when out riding the motorcycle or doing distance rallies. I figure by upgrading the bike to a car, I can now carry more Nikon gear so it's a win-win!

I went to the camera store today. I looked really hard at the used lenses and thirsted after a graphite monopod, but only spent 0.64 PB on a pop-up flash diffuser.

Ok... I realize I'm probably the only one who doesn't know, but I'm going to ask anyway... What is NAS?

Nikon Acquisition Syndrome. Some refer to it as Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

Description: Uncontrollable urge to get all lenses, newest cameras on the market and the magical thinking that the lens that you don't have but want will make you a better photographer and improve your creativity. Can only be cured by buying something you want but will also create buyer's remorse as soon as you realize the new gear does NOT improve your creativity and your knowledge of what great light is. :)

NAS = Nikon Acquisition syndrome
The impulse to buy more and more Nikon gear, or gear to go with your Nikon! :D

Thank you for clearing that up... So far I haven't put off any bills or sold any needed/useful items... but I drool like the dickens for some new glass!

For an example, I've owned 4 Nikon DSLRs and one mirrorless Nikon 1 V1, and a bunch of lenses, a flash and two tripods and other gear in a little less than a year on a limited income. Lol :D
A lot of it is trial an error in finding what works best for you. Some of it's from going too cheap and being dissatisfied. And some of it is oooh that looks cool, I gotta get one of those! Lol :D
But it all adds up to a long running buying spree based on your photography wants! Lol :D

I especially want that new Tamron 16-300 F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens... I have read some good reviews and so far no bad ones... It would definitely be an upgrade from my 55-200mm kit lens.
