Peragrine Falcon (with Handler)​

Really nice shot, I'd enjoy seeing a raptor with a handler. I am pretty sure it is a Kestrel though.

Okay, thank you for clarifying that. I don't really know jack about birds but someone kept referring to the bird in that shot as a Peragrine and even I was scratching my head because I was sure I'd seen Peragrines on TV or something and I didn't remember them looking like that. So it's a Kestrel then... Good to know.

Well, the Kestrel is a falcon (the smallest and most colorful of the falcons) , so it would be easy to use the wrong name. The one you photographed is a male, by the way. You can tell by the blue on his wings.

I'm interested in what the handler did with the bird. Did the bird fly out and back or anything? I would really like to see what a good handler does with these birds.

The snow flake shot is cool. It would make a great Christmas card.
